EVANSVILLE Shelly and Brett Foster, Evansville small-business entrepreneurs, have had to deal with layoffs in their extended family. Therefore, they have a soft spot in their hearts for helping people who have been laid off.
PostNet Neighborhood Business Center, their startup business that opened March 1 in Lakeside Commons, reflects the couple’s willingness to help. The Fosters are providing up to 25 free copies of resumes and cover pages and free envelopes to area residents who have been laid off.
“At PostNet, we have tools and capabilities that can be utilized to help folks overcome this kind of temporary setback, and we couldn’t be happier to put them to work doing just that,” Brett Foster said.
“People from the Midwest have a strong work ethic. They want to be productive, and it’s really a point of pride. When their job goes away, it hurts, and not just financially.”
All a worker needs to do is bring a copy of his resume and cover letter to the PostNet store, located at Green River and Lynch roads. Resumes and cover letters also can be sent via e-mail to in115@postnet.com or posted to the store’s secure FTP site, accessed via the e-mail address.
The free offer will continue indefinitely, Shelly Foster said.
The Fosters decided to open their PostNet printing, packaging and shipping store after studying various franchise opportunities on the Internet.
Besides offering full-service digital, variable data and wide-format printing, PostNet is an authorized shipping outlet for FedEx, UPS, DHL and the U.S. Postal Service.
