Local Toyota plant honored for ‘culture of wellness’

GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana (TMMI) has been awarded a Four-Star Level of Certification for its commitment to health and wellness at its Gibson County, Ind., plant.

The award was presented to TMMI President Kazumori Oi by Wellness Council of Indiana President Mike Campbell.

Campbell described the atmosphere at the Toyota plant as one of “connectivity and striving for a true culture of wellness.

“Evidence of health and productivity appears to permeate most areas, and the hard work TMMI has done as a team is well deserving of the Four-Star recognition.”

“We are thrilled to be recognized,” said Kelly Dillon, spokeswoman for the TMMI plant. “This shows our team members’ commitment to health and wellness is stronger than ever.”

TMMI was presented with the award based on several key initiatives, including — but not limited to — a supportive work environment and community support, planning and operating the plan developed by its wellness team and support from top management.

The Wellness Council of Indiana is a nonprofit organization of Hoosier-based business leaders dedicated to promoting healthier lifestyles.
