Insight forwards voice-mail to e-mail

Copies of an Insight phone customer’s voice mails can now be sent directly to up to two designated e-mail addresses via a new home phone service, Voicemail Express, which the company is introducing.

According to Jason Keller, Insight public affairs director, the service copies every home phone voice-mail message and automatically sends it to the designated e-mail address or two addresses.

“If a person already has our phone service or if a customer signs up for it in the future, the Voicemail Express feature is available at no additional cost,” he said.

Robert DiNardo, vice president/general manager of WOW!’s Evansville office, said that Internet, cable and phone provider does not offer a similar service.

However, DiNardo said “We are consistently researching future products to offer our customers.”

Keller explained the Insight Voicemail Express system works like this:

n The subject line of each Voicemail Express e-mail shows the phone number of the person who left the message. When Phone 2.0 customers spot a message, which they want to hear, they can simply click on the e-mail attachment.

n The message plays right through the computer speakers.

n If a customer deletes a message by mistake using the Voicemail Express service, the original message still will be waiting in their voice mail inbox.

To activate the service, a customer can visit www.MyInsight.com and click on “Voicemail” at the top of the home page. Then enter his phone number and 4-digit password to access Voicemail Express.
